Dr Colin Kikiros
Dr Colin Kikiros is a Paediatric Surgeon and is the Director
of Perth Children's Surgery. He is a
fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the
Pacific Association of Paediatric Surgeons and the Society of Paediatric
Urologists of New Zealand and Australia. He has been trained in General
Paediatric Surgery as well as Urological Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He
trained in Paediatric and Urological Surgery in Perth and at the Royal Children's
Hospital in Melbourne. He then completed a fellowship in Paediatric
Laparoscopic Surgery and Thoracic Surgery in Washington D.C. before returning
home to Perth. Dr Kikiros set up the
laparoscopic (key hole surgery) service at Princess Margaret Hospital in
1992. He is a very experienced
laparoscopic surgeon and has been performing laparoscopic, thoracic and
thoracoscopic surgery in neonates, children and adolescents for over 20 years.
Dr Kikiros manages pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum and is the Perth expert on the Nuss procedure. He offers surgical and non-surgical management for pectus carinatum.

- neonatal surgery
- a wide range of abdominal laparoscopic surgery
such as fundoplication for the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux,
appendicectomy, cholecystectomy, splenectomy, nephrectomy.
- urological surgery including hypospadias repair,
undescended testicle surgery, management of ureteric reflux, pyeloplasty
(laparoscopic in children over two years of age), groin hernia and hydrocele repair,
circumcision for medical and cultural reasons.
- chest wall deformity surgery.
- thoracoscopic treatment of sweaty palms and armpits.
- antenatal counselling for lung cysts.
